Fleischmann, Haskins Take USAT Elite Development Race Titles

USA Triathlon Elite Development Race #1

In what proved to be a competitive early-season contest, Brian Fleischmann and Sarah Haskins were victorious in USA Triathlon's first Elite Development Race of 2010 at Lake Louisa State Park. Fleishmann outdistanced a field of 35 men with a time of 53:22 in the sprint distance race, which consisted of a 750-meter swim, a 20-kilometer bike and a 5-kilometer run. Fellow ITU-ranked elites Cameron Dye (53:48) and Jarrod Shoemaker (54:14) took second and third, respectively.

Middaugh, Isom Take Winter Triathlon at Tennessee Pass

In a close men’s race, Josiah Middaugh claimed victory at the Aria Spa & Club Winter Triathlon held at the Tennessee Pass Nordic Center.  Middaugh finished with a time of 1:33:16, followed by Jay Henry in 1:33:45, and Mike Kloser in 1:34:35.  Lisa Isom cruised to victory in the women’s race with a time of 1:48:06.  Gretchen Reeves took second in 2:08:35, followed by Kate Chapman in third place with a time of 2:24:59.
