Plane Crash Takes Life of Local Triathlete
August 23, 2006 (Boulder, CO) - Boulder triathlete, Troy Theodos, age 34, died Saturday evening in a plane crash near Fort Collins. Theodos, originally from Ruston, Louisiana, came to Colorado over eight years ago from Florida where he had served in the Navy as a rescue swimmer....cont.

August 13, 2006 (Boulder, CO) - Joanna Zeiger and Craig Alexander top the field at this year's long course contest at Boulder Reservoir. The race was the last of three events in the 2006 Boulder Triathlon Series.

Boulder Men Sweep Vineman
July 30, 2006 (Sonoma County, California) - Colorado's top pros put on a show at this year's Vineman Ironman 70.3 in Sonoma County, California. The fourteen year old race hosted last year's one-on-one match up between Tim DeBoom and Peter Reid (handily won by DeBoom), but has been without an official pro race for a few years. In 2006, the event became part of the Ironman 70.3 Series, and attracted a top-notch international field...cont.

Boulder Peak Triathlon
July 23, 2006 (Boulder, CO) - A loaded field of pros and amateurs vied for top spots at this year's Boulder Peak Triathlon. Pros Craig Alexander and Leanda Cave claimed victory in the men and women's races, respectively. Among age-groupers, Cameron Dye for the men and Teri Cady for the women took top honors. Cady also slotted in at 3rd overall among the women.

Greenslit Top Colorado Athlete
July 8, 2006 (Kansas City, MO) - Colorado athletes at this year's USAT Age Group National Championships turned out in strong numbers. Craig Greenslit led the group with his 6th place overall finish.

Zeiger Dominates Hot Field on Hot Day at Ironman Coeur d'Alene
June 25, 2006 (Coeur d'Alene, ID) - Boulder's Joanna Zeiger etched her name atop the leaderboard in the women's pro championships at this year's Ironman Coeur d'Alene. In the men's race, Colorado's AJ Johnson took 3rd overall for the day. The Colorado contingent was over 120 strong in this year's race.

June 18, 2006 (Boulder, CO) - The Boulder Triathlon Series got underway at the Boulder Reservoir with the 5430 Sprint race. Wendy Mader of Fort Collins and Stephen Hacket of Boulder took the women's and men's titles, respectively.

Collegians Contest Titles without Swim
April 22, 2006 (Sparks, NV) - Unexpectedly cold weather forced cancellation of the swim portion of the Collegiate Triathlon Championships. Led by Leah Larson's 5th place finish, the CU women's team took the runner-up spot behind Montana. CU men finished a distant 8th behind UC-Berkeley's near perfect win.
